A Message From our Teaching Pastor

“LH4L is a beautiful ministry to witness and be a part of. We see in the gospels that Jesus has an extraordinary compassion for children and desires that they would know Him (Matthew 19:14). This ministry is a fantastic way to draw near to Jesus because we are serving and drawing near to those He loves. In my experience of sponsoring and writing letters through our LH4L Sponsorship Program, I am not alone in saying that I find myself consistently blessed and encouraged. I get far more than I give. It is a reality that it’s “better to give than receive” (Acts 20:35).”

Sowers4Pastors

Lighthouse 4 Lempira is our child sponsorship program through our partnership with the Sowers4Pastors ministry in Lempira, Honduras. Through this program, we provide food, school supplies, Bible lessons, and more to approximately 700 children in 11 different communities in the mountains of Lempira, Honduras. Every summer, LH sends mission teams to share the gospel of Jesus with the children in our program through Vacation Bible School. Every winter, LH sends a missions team to distribute backpacks and assist with registering the children for their new school year. Through these trips, our backpack drive, and exchanging letters between the children and their sponsors, we can demonstrate Jesus’ love for them and meet their physical and spiritual needs!

Backpack Drive

At the beginning of the school year, LH has an opportunity to provide school supplies to children we sponsor to prepare them for the school year. While public education is free, the financial burden of supplies is significant on a family. During the fall, LH Outreach will be hosting our annual Backpack Drive! You can fill a backpack with items on the list provided for your sponsored child. You can even fill up a backpack for an unsponsored child! Backpacks make it all the way to Lempira, Honduras, in time for their school year, which begins in February. The children look forward to receiving their backpacks every year!

Honduras Missions Team

Team members will spend one or two weeks at the end of July/beginning of August presenting Vacation Bible School in the 11 schools Lighthouse Church currently sponsors near Gracias, Honduras. Recruitment for the VBS team begins in January, and the team meets to train and prepare for their trip in the months leading up to departure.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child's mission is to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way to children in need worldwide. Through this project, Samaritan's Purse partners with local churches worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations. A simple shoebox packed by our church will travel miles to show the love of Jesus! Shoebox distribution and collection happen in November, while preparation for shoeboxes occurs throughout the year.
